One, it is the earliest Perry Mason novel I have read yet and the others have all been a good way into the series 50-70 range or so. In The Case of the Howling Dog, Arthur Cartwright, an anxious man, goes to Perry Mason to have his neighbor arrested for his vindictive and noisy dog.
