In a rage, Nick goes back to Nostradamus with what he has left of the money he stole from the Money Box. Something Rotten This Way Comes is the twenty-sixth episode of Trollhunters and the season finale of Part One. Nigel sneaks out to London Bridge to see Portia, where he reads her another poem about his love for her.

I can't imagine too many middle-grade readers who wouldn't find Montgomery's book compelling reading.
It has a nice mixture of story and fact. As Nigel sleeps, Nick faces the real reason he hates Shakespeare: "The Bard" makes Nick feel self-conscious ("God, I Hate Shakespeare (Reprise)"). I love the author's quirky inquisitiveness and willingness to go to such lengths to find the answers she seeks. NIGEL: 30 to early 40s, male. It teaches how dead animals, and the research done with them, is helping to cure disease, build safer road systems and recreation areas, and how scientists are able to take something that could be a nuisance and burden (roadkill) and use it for the betterment of society (through research). The musical opens with "The Minstrel" welcoming the audience to the European Renaissance ("Welcome to the Renaissance"). Broadway, Something Rotten! Her subtitle, “A Fresh Look at Roadkill,” suggests a reason for her advice. There is real science, real social conscience, and real empathy for our fellow animals mixed together in a lively tale that keep me riveted the entire time. Sure, it's a bit irreverent but roadkill is a funny subject so it's just about perfect. It also caught my eye because of Kevin O’Malley’s Nick Bottom is a failing writer trying to come up with a good idea. They are saving for a better life, and when Nick tries to open the Money Box, Bea smacks his hand away. When she is not writing, Heather can be found climbing a tree, hiking to a waterfall or paddling a river.
Besides being one-dimensionally about roadkill, the text asks the reader to reflect on how we interact with, care for, and regard animal populations. From biologists who use the corpses of Tasmanian devils to investigate cures for a contagious cancer, to a scientist who discovered a whole new species of bird from a single wing left behind, to a boy rebuilding animal bodies from the bones up, to a restaurant that serves up animal remnants, Heather discovers that death is just the beginning for these creatures. He loves science and has read all of the big books with tons of photographs, but now he's supposed to have "serious" books for book reports at school.

When I was in college, one of the professors wrote a book about flattened animals (roadkill) that got attention from the national news media because of the quirky topic. ... Something Rotten! I have never read informational footnotes that made me laugh before. Nigel wants to do "The Brothers from Cornwall", the story of the two brothers' lives, but Nick vetoes saying it has to be bigger, and decides to do a play about the Black Death. I'm sure it will entice many a middle grade reader and even some upper elementary school readers. I can say for certain that I will never be able to look at roadkill the same way again-and that is the power of a well written book!
