My only complaint was they needed more Michael - love that guy.A resounding success, not tarnishing or diluting the character in any way.Has plenty to recommend it, thanks to a string of memorable one-liners and Coogan's unmatched knack for skin-crawling physical comedy.
April 3, 2020 August 14, 2018 The good thing about this movie is that while it helps to have been familiar with the series and its characters, it's not necessary in order to enjoy the film and I definitely think that that's the hardest transition most series have when they try to do a full-length feature. | Alan is pure comedy gold and all of my family love it.Dvd was excellent price and fast postage from seller Partridge's career decline has taken him to small regional radio station North Norfolk Digital, where he hosts a mid-morning show of soft rock and talkback.
While I found giggles in this misadventure, it's not a masterpiece I can unreservedly recommend, but there's certainly intelligence, humor and nudity to be found.

Alan Partridge -- also known as Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa -- owes a debt to the work of Edgar Wright, who masterfully mixed suburban life with a zombie apocalypse in 2004's Shaun of the Dead and threw an explosive Hollywood-size action movie plot into a rural village in 2007's Hot Fuzz. When famous DJ Alan Partridge's radio station is taken over by a new media conglomerate, it sets in motion a chain of events which see Alan having to work with the police to defuse a potentially violent siege.
This happens in a lot of comedies and I think it's perfectly fine that it happens, but I think it does, unfortunately, keep the film from reaching 4 stars.
Steve Coogan's genius comic creation - long-suffering delusional broadcaster Alan Partridge - gets the movie treatment.
| Rating: 3.5/5
Alan Gordon Partridge is a comedic character portrayed by English actor Steve Coogan.A parody of British television personalities, Partridge is an inept broadcaster whose inflated sense of celebrity drives him to treachery and shameless self-promotion. The series is brilliantly scripted, every bit as good as The Office, and it is better acted throughout, with Coogan showing what a great comedy actor he is. However, the writing's a little weak doesn't seem to know where the story's going at times.

But first he has to deal with some offensive graffiti adorning his car. It's Valentine's Day and Alan enjoys a romantic date at an owl sanctuary with the receptionist from the now defunct Peartree Productions. Though I will say that the climax itself, in particular the entirety of the scene at the pier, brought tears of laughter to my eyes. This movie has some great belly laughs created through visuals and some clever dialogue. He is a genius creation; just wrong enough and inappropriate enough and narcissistic enough to be comic, but never so wrong he's entirely unbelievable or unsympathetic.
You don't need to be a fan of the show to find enjoyment out of this movie, which is endearing regardless of its overly simple plot and sometimes asinine sense of humor. Thank you!
